UK design award for platform strategy
The Wind River Platforms range has been chosen as design solution of the year at the 2003 UK Electronics Industry Design Awards
Wind River Platforms won the award in an industry vote against finalists Cadence Design Systems, Picochip Designs and Papst. It recognised the innovative application of hardware/software in design engineering and the problem solving abilities of design support teams. "This award represents a great achievement for Wind River", said Steve Harris, Regional Director Wind River.

Wind River set a new standard for the embedded industry with the launch of the first market-specific integrated embedded platforms, Wind River Platforms at the end of 2002.
To date Wind River has introduced market-specific platforms for the network infrastructure, aerospace and defence, consumer, industrial and automotive markets - and more will follow.
Wind River Platforms include highly integrated, proven technology tuned for each market, allowing customers to improve development efficiencies, accelerate time to market and enhance product reliability.
