West Coast Engineering, a pioneer in electronic component distribution and NexFlash Technologies, a pioneer in serial Flash technology, today announced their worldwide distribution agreement. The deal will add NexFlash and its revolutionary line of spiFlash serial Flash memories with Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) to the West Coast Engineering line card. 'The distribution channel is a critical part of NexFlash's worldwide sales and marketing organisation, and West Coast Engineering provides customers with a seasoned, professional element to that organisation', said Frank Reynolds, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at NexFlash.

'The continued success of the spiFlash family requires a strong relationship with a wide range of customers, which West Coast Engineering certainly brings to this distribution agreement'.

NexFlash's spiFlash memories are available in a wide range of densities including 1, 4, 8 and 16Mbit.

The spiFlash family is the only serial Flash memory line with a common SOIC footprint in densities ranging from 1 to 16Mbit.

NexFlash also plans to add 32 and 64Mbit densities in 2005.

NexFlash spiFlash memories are ideal for serial code in a variety of controller-, DSP- and FPGA-based applications.

West Coast Engineering has been at the forefront of the electronics industry for more than 20 years.

The addition of NexFlash and its spiFlash family of serial Flash memory into their product offering allows them new business opportunities in China and other parts of the world where today's manufacturing is taking place.

'The spiFlash line is a great new family of products that has uses in a lot of today's consumer products, such as DVD recorders and set-top boxes', said Jerry Velona, Vice President of Marketing for West Coast Engineering.

'The size, price and functionality of the spiFlash family help us get in the door of a lot more customers'.

'Design engineers will recognise that value of the spiFlash line and start putting it into their new designs'.
