Mini-RDIMMs stack up memory advantages
Viking InterWorks is supporting the highest density 244-pin Mini-RDIMMs in the industry with its latest offering, a 4Gbyte module
The main advantages of the RAM-Stack product compared with other stacking techniques are its superior thermal performance, excellent signal integrity at high speed and reliability at higher temperatures.
'These RoHS-compliant 8Gbyte four-rank DDR2 VLP DIMMs are aimed primarily at the high-density server market'.
'We have also released a line of RAM-Stack based Mini-RDIMMs for the communications market', said Adrian Proctor, Vice President of Marketing for Viking InterWorks.
'The advantages of RAM-Stack are very exciting and Viking InterWorks is able to provide OEMs with reliable, thermally superior high-density modules'.
This innovative approach to stacking memory components places DRAM die on a ceramic substrate with carefully controlled thermal coefficient of expansion, resulting in a cost effective and highly reliable method of stacking.
These DDR2 4Gbyte RAM-Stack devices are an extension of previously released and highly successful DDR1 range.
