Vast Systems has joined the Power.org community and has also signed an Ecosystem Partner Agreement with IBM

Vast Systems has joined Power.org and signed an Ecosystem Partner Agreement with IBM. Power.org is an open community of companies that advance Power Architecture technology. Boasting membership that includes AMCC, Broadcom, Ericsson, Freescale, IBM, Lauterbach, Sony, Wind River and many more, Power.org is a rapidly growing body of innovators who develop tools, software, and board-level digital products.

The Ecosystem Partner Agreement with IBM provides Vast with source code access to IBM's market leading embedded processor cores, SystemC models, instruction set simulators and RiscWatch code.

The Power Architecture is a leading choice among companies developing high performance embedded products.

Such products demand high performance design and software development solutions.

Vast's high speed, binary- and timing-accurate virtual prototyping tools are the linchpin of a pre-silicon software design flow.

'High performance software development tools are an integral component of IBM Power Architecture design and development solutions'.

'We welcome Vast to our growing community', said Ron Martino, IBM Global Engineering Solutions, Director of Power Architecture Solutions.

Vast has proven experience in delivering products that support the Power Architecture, having recently developed a virtual processor model of the Freescale e200z6 processor core.

Through collaboration with Power.org, IBM, and mutual customers, Vast will develop additional Power Architecture products to be announced in the second half of 2007.

'Today's embedded systems increasingly rely on ecosystems of software development partners who provide everything from device drivers and operating systems to user applications'.

'Vast products enable pre-silicon software development and are therefore perfect for unifying desegregated software development'.

'Membership in Power.org enables unfettered technical exchanges with member companies creating an environment that accelerates solution delivery', said Alain Labat CEO of Vast Systems.

'Vast Systems is a valuable new participant in Power.org'.

'There is substantial opportunity for technical collaboration and innovation between Power.org's embedded platform standardisation initiative and Vast'.

'Their leadership in embedded systems modelling and simulation technology will contribute to enabling faster and lower cost embedded system development with Power Architecture processors', said Michael Paczan, Chairman, Power.org Technical Committee.
