Courses update telecomms expertise
Since last year, the University of Oxford's CPD Centre has doubled the number of courses offered to telecomms professionals
The Oxford Telecomms Programme increased its portfolio of five courses to 10 courses for 2006, many of which are from emerging fields in the industry. To meet the challenge of increase in consumer demand for mobile services, the CPD Centre has added the following new courses: mobile messaging; voice over IP; 3G/DVB-H mobile TV; converged multimedia networks; and UMTS protocol architecture.

These include consultants from Vodafone, Alcatel, Fujitsu, Motorola Computer Group, NetCentrex, O2 UK and independent consultants such as 3G strategy expert Tomi Anhonen.
The principal focus of the courses is on new techniques and standards, but the Telecomms Programme also provides courses on expected future technologies as well as refresher/retraining courses on current knowledge and personal development.
The programme also offers professional training in: market success of 3G and wireless mobile services; wireless communication and future applications; IMS/SIP; HSDPA/HSUPA; and UMTS system design and operation.
These telecomms courses run from 15th June through to 6th July 2006 in Oxford at the CPD Centre.
