Metalink's wireless LAN and DSL technologies enable true broadband connectivity in every home, through cost-effective, very high-speed delivery of advanced applications

UR Group has established a partnership with Metalink, a leading provider of high-performance silicon solutions which is revolutionising the broadband experience by facilitating the convergence of telecommunication, networking and entertainment. Metalink's wireless LAN and DSL technologies enable true broadband connectivity in every home, through cost-effective, very high-speed delivery of advanced applications.

This is achieved through the implementation of Metalink's WLANPlus, a high-throughput wireless LAN technology which is 5-10x faster than currently available wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n technologies.

Featuring MIMO technology adopted by the 802.11n standard, utilising advanced coding (LDPC), packet aggregation and channel bonding, WLANPlus provides the foundation for a wireless entertainment network that enables full home coverage for simultaneous, multiple, high-definition video streams.

Joe Matano, Managing Director of UR Group, commented: 'Metalink's WLANPlus an advanced wireless local area networking (WLAN) technology designed to enable high-throughput, rich-content, quality-critical applications'.

'This new chipset is fully compliant with the emerging IEEE802.11n standard, which enables a significant increase in throughput and range over any other existing WLAN solution'.

Millions of DSL lines have already been deployed by the largest service providers in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region, using Metalink-based products integrated into the equipment of leading system manufacturers.
