DDR2 connector lowers profile for ATCA
Low profile DDR2 connector is designed for the main memory requirements on Advanced Telecommunications Computer Architecture carrier boards
Tyco Electronics offers a new low profile DDR2 connector designed for the main memory requirements on Advanced Telecommunications Computer Architecture (ATCA) carrier boards. This connector was developed to accept the new VLP very low profile module from Micron Technology and meets the ATCA height limitations on the carrier board.

The low module seating plane of the connector allows for increased module space for module components in a VLP form factor.
'This low profile connector also includes a new ejector design, which allows airflow to reach the memory module DRAMs for effective cooling', comments Kim Whitman, Product Manager, Tyco Electronics' Communications, Computer and Consumer Electronics business unit.
'It also utilises proven Tyco Electronics' DDR2 contact design for interface reliability to the memory module'.
Tyco Electronics' low profile DDR2 connector is available in three solder tail lengths and contact interface plating options.
