Tyco Electronics has developed an advanced automatic insertion machine it claims delivers superb levels of speed, flexibility and functionality. Specifically designed to provide superior performance and versatility, the benchtop machine is perfectly suited to medium board size/production volumes and represents a significant step forward in insertion technology. Providing quick and easy head changeover, the versatile P200 from Tyco Electronics delivers precise positioning and repeatability - to 0.02mm - of manually loaded PCBs.

Offering unrivalled levels of flexibility and cost-effectiveness, the device provides stepper motor driven x-y table functionality, and a baseplate specifically designed for benchtop applications.

With a maximum insertion area of 210 x 300mm, the P200 positions manually loaded PCBs under an installed tool, whether it be a solder head, a camera for automatic inspection, or an insertion head, for the application of Tyco Electronics products.

Insertion tools for Tyco Electronics products are composed of an insertion head (upper tooling), an anvil (lower tooling) and a product feeding mechanism.

These tools are product specific and the PCB holder interface is designed according to the customer application.

With a rotary insertion finger to allow simple insertion of pins at different angles, the P200 also features a user-friendly mechanical and electrical interface that enables other tools to be easily integrated into the machine, and an advanced multitasking control system to allow easy programming and operation of the device.

With a maximum pin insertion output of 90 pins per minute, and a maximum socket placement of 60 sockets per minute, the P200 is compatible with a number of optional accessories, enabling easy adaptation to the most varied of manufacturing tasks.

Measuring just 850 x 850 x 800mm, the machine requires a power supply of 230V, 50Hz, and a compressed air supply of 600kPa, and delivers a sound pressure level of less than 75dB(A).
