Tyco Electronics has introduced an RJ-45 plug-in connector for Fast and Gigabit Ethernet.
Designed for a transmission rate from 100Mbit/s (4-pin) to 1,000 Mbit/s (8-pin), it is suitable for industrial automation and therefore suitable for Ethernet systems such as Safetynet p.
The RJ-45 modular plug-in connector is designed with quick-connect technology in accordance with the common core principle.

The common core principle means that the connector core is integrated into a range of housing types.
Interfaces with IP20 to IP65/67 protection can be implemented based on this connector platform.
These connectors are also used in conventional, Ethernet-based automation and network technology.
