Tyco introduces general-purpose relays
Tyco Electronics has developed the RZ series of general purpose relays from its RT relay.
Suitable for applications such as household appliances, building automation (garage door controls), heating (boiler controls), timers, industrial controllers and POS automation, RZ Series relays offer one pole with 12A or 16A current rating and one CO or one NO contact.

The RZ series of General Purpose Relays is ideal for modern applications such as household appliances, building automation (e.g. garage door controls) and heating (e.g. boiler controls).
The devices have a rated voltage of 250V AC, 400mW coil power and reinforced insulation.
Standard RZ Series relays feature an ambient temperature of 85C, with the Hot version designed for a maximum ambient temperature of 105C.
The relays are all VDE and UL-approved, fully RoHS-compliant and meet appliance industry requirements of IEC60335-1.
RZ Series general-purpose relays are being manufactured at Tyco Electronics' fully automated manufacturing line in Waidhofen, Austria.
This ensures short lead times for Tyco Electronics' European customers.
