Avocad is a novel Windows-based package for designing VLSI circuits with its own full-features circuit simulation module.

Circuit simulation is the main stage of the ASIC design flow, and is especially significant in simulating mixed-signal VLSI circuits IC verification methods for behavioural and logical design allow the simulation of ULSI circuits in an acceptable timescale

However, today's designers need to use higher-precision tools to improve the probability of ULSI manufacturing with the desired performance objectives.

Such tools also allow designers to detect regions on the chip where modifications might allow the working frequency to be increased and/or improvements to other circuit parameters.

Moreover, during ULSI circuit simulation after extraction of parasitic and interconnection elements at the layout-design stage, each circuit element gets its individual parameters values, and logical simulation for such circuits becomes impossible or extremely laborious.

The concept of complete circuit verification is realised by the EDA industry's leaders using specially developed programs, which allow the calculation of digital and mixed-signal CMOS circuits with dimensions up to hundreds of thousands of transistors within economically acceptable terms.

Now, the novel circuit simulation module used in the Avocad CAD system allows users to design circuits with dimensions up to one million transistors and even more.

The module significantly reduces simulation time for circuits where only a small proportion (10-20%) of the transistors are active at any given time - a criterion met by the majority of digital circuits.

Tests have shown that the simulation accuracy of Avocad equals that of world leaders in analogue circuit simulation - and in some cases exceeds them.

Avocad is a novel Windows-based package for designing VLSI circuits.

It has been developed to account for the needs of today's IC designers.

It incorporates all the necessary functions for schematic IC design as well as the advanced simulation program.
