Sunplus signs for
cellular baseband engine
Consumer IC design company Sunplus Technology is the first licensee of CBEmacro 3G, the latest member of TTPCom's proven and warranted Cellular Baseband Engine family
CBEmacro 3G includes all software and hardware elements required to implement the communications subsystem of the next generation of 3G cellular communications processors. The modem subsystem of a cellular chipset is no longer viewed by semiconductor vendors as a point of differentiation for their products.

Instead, multimedia features are now the new battlefield on which they compete.
TTPCom's CBEmacro allows semiconductor vendors to respond to this trend by providing a pre-integrated and validated cellular modem block for use in system on chip (SoC) designs.
Customers that implement CBEmacro are relieved of the burden of developing and maintaining the modem function in-house.
