Avner Mor, CEO at AlphaCell commented: "AlphaCell's competitive edge in the market will be strengthened by TTPCom's GSM/GPRS handset software.
The M6, AlphaCell's flagship product, combines the functionalities of a smart phone with advanced multimedia capabilities to create a feature-rich, customised product to suit customers' needs.
The M6 enables operators to differentiate their services, thereby increasing ARPU, creating new revenue streams, reducing churn and meeting individual customer requirements".
Commenting on the announcement, TTPCom's Managing Director Tony Milbourn said, "TTPCom has invested many man-years to create IP that will underpin next generation handsets, capable of supporting advanced multimedia services.
Our work has also included extensive interoperability testing with network operators worldwide, to validate our GPRS software".
The M6 is scheduled for launch in early 2003.
The devices will be phone-size in a slim form factor, with a unique colour TFT touch display that will cover the entire front of the device to allow maximum viewing area.
It will consolidate multiple business functions in a single, convenient, pocket-sized device to create a multimedia mobile office, customised for business users.
Enhanced personal information management services include email, multimedia messaging services, contacts, calendar, to-do lists and notes.
It will also include media capture and playback and MP3 player entertainment features, as well as Internet browsing and information services.
