Ultraminiature PIN diode
saves board space
Toshiba has expanded its family of PIN diodes with a new ultraminiature surface-mount device that will allow engineers to significantly reduce board space in UHF and SHF switching applications
Designed to provide reliable operation at frequencies as high as 6GHz, the new JDP2S05FS is ideal for cordless and mobile phones operating in the 2.4 and 5.8GHz bands. The device will also suit satellite tuners, integrated phone/PDA products, and other high-frequency applications requiring low series inductance, diode capacitance and insertion loss.

The JDP2S05FS is supplied in Toshiba's new 2-pin fSC ultraminiature package.
This package has dimensions of just 1.0 x 0.6 x 0.5mm, helping designers of high frequency applications to achieve significant board space reductions.
Toshiba's new PIN diode has a typical terminal capacitance (CT) of just 0.32pF and a series resistance of 1.5ohm (with a forward current of 1mA).
The device is supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for use with high-speed, automated assembly equipment.
