Compact WLAN switches
offer low insertion loss
Two new antenna switches combine low insertion loss and low-voltage operation with small UF6 or TU6 packages
Toshiba has expanded its family of high-frequency discrete devices with two new antenna switches that combine low insertion loss and low-voltage operation with small UF6 or TU6 packages. The TG2216TU and TG2211FT are single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switches that are ideal for use with antennas in wireless LAN (W-LAN) applications.

The TG2211FT is a 2.4GHz antenna switch suitable for a variety of applications including ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) frequency bands, whereas the TG2216TU is optimised for medium-power applications.
Insertion losses for the two switches are down to 0.55dB (TG2211FT) and 0.7dB (TG2216TU).
Both switches offer high isolation up to 25dB as well as high linearity of, typically, up to 28dBmW.
The TG2216TU is supplied in a UF6 package measuring 2.0 x 2.1 x 0.7mm, whereas the TG2211FT is supplied in a TU6 package measuring 2.0 x 1.25 x 0.6mm.
Switching operation of the new devices is controlled by the logic levels at the switch input.
