TIs Pb-free products are RoHS compatible for all six RoHS substances.
In addition to the substances restricted by RoHS, TI is addressing additional substances of concern through its green mould compound initiative.
TI defines 'green' to mean a mould compound that is Pb-free and uses package materials that do not contain halogens, such as bromine or antimony above 0.1% of total product weight.
TI began its conversion of semiconductor products in the late 1980s.
As the demand increased and the RoHS Directive was adopted, TI set an aggressive conversion schedule.
TI will continue to drive aggressive schedules for Pb-free conversions to support customers needs going into 2005.
TI is actively monitoring the decisions around environmental legislation and will align its conversion with those decisions and the needs of our customers.
TI recognizes that customers require early availability of RoHS compatible semiconductor products.
In order to manage this demand, TI has established an Eco-Friendly Solutions Program Office dedicated to supporting customers during this transition.
In addition, TI provides a web site, which allows customers to enter a TI part number or customer-specific part number that has been registered with TI and obtain the complete material content, current production status, moisture sensitivity level, qualified reflow temperature, terminal finish and current status of Pb-free or green.
