'We're creating feature-rich applications for car audio head units that take advantage of the processing power of TI's chips'.
The first joint effort for PhatNoise and TI will be the PhatNoise mCD platform, which PhatNoise is developing for TI's TMS320DA150 DSP to extend the functionality of MP3-capable CD units within the car audio system.
'With the ability to put up to 200 MP3 songs on a single CD, finding a desired song, artist or genre will prove to be a distraction to many drivers.
The mCD experience eases the digital music catalogue navigation allowing the driver to stay focused on driving', said Brian Fortman, Telematics Marketing Manager at Texas Instruments.
'The TI/PhatNoise collaboration will enable car audio manufacturers to build easier to use, feature-rich head units today and will bring further innovations to next generation products'.
