Quintum Technologies has chosen TI's VoIP products for its next-generation switch platforms

These complete, integrated VoIP solutions, featuring industry-leading 'solution density' and low power, incorporate TI's programmable DSP-based TNETV series of access communications processors and Telogy Software for VoIP. Quintum was recently ranked as the industry's fastest-growing VoIP hardware solutions provider by industry analyst firm, In-Stat/MDR, and supplies integrated VoIP solutions to both enterprises and service providers.

With this agreement, Quintum will incorporate TI's VoIP software and silicon into three of its VoIP switch families: the Tenor Analog Series multipath switch, which currently supports up to eight simultaneous VoIP calls; the Tenor Digital Series multipath switch which supports up to 30 simultaneous VoIP calls; and the Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch that supports up to 960 simultaneous VoIP calls in a 4U-high chassis.

'TI's VoIP solutions enable Quintum to create very efficiently designed products', said Cheng Chen, CEO of Quintum Technologies.

'The integration of TI's DSP technology and Telogy Software provides Quintum with a key component for its award winning Tenor platform.

In addition, TI's advanced silicon technology, coupled with Quintum's innovation, helped us to develop a VoIP switch that provides 240 VoIP calls in a 1U-high chassis, one of the most space efficient in the industry'.

TI's VoIP product suite combines hardware and software-based functionality on an optimised architecture.

Quintum will incorporate TI's TNETV2010, TNETV2840 and TNETV3010 products into its Tenor Analog Series Multipath Switch, Tenor Digital Series Multipath Switch and Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch families.

TI's TNETV2020 VoIP gateway solution, with dual DSP cores and Telogy Software products, supports a broad range of gateway and integrated access device (IAD) solutions, from two-port to T1/E1.

TI's TNETV2840 VoIP gateway solution, targeted for enterprise and high-density gateway applications, provides 48 PCM channels and supports up to 128ms echo cancellation.

TI's TNETV3010 VoIP solution, which supports up to 2016 channels, features the industry's lowest power consumption and 'solution density' - the capability to deliver the highest number of channels on a chip, while reducing power consumption, board-size and cost, and simultaneously increasing network performance.

'We're very excited to be working closely with Quintum on three of their leading product families', said Brian Glinsman, Executive Director, Infrastructure Solutions, TI's VoIP Business Unit.

'With their recent ranking as one of the fastest growing VoIP equipment manufacturers in the industry, we value the important role we're playing in Quintum's continued growth and success'.

Quintum's Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches and other advanced VoIP products offer the ability to implement VoIP with solutions that are easy to install, easy to use, provide full compliance with H.323 and SIP and are interoperable with existing infrastructure.

Quintum's solutions eliminate risk with innovative technology: patented SelectNet for automatic, instant failover switching to the public telephone network if voice quality is threatened; PacketSaver multiplexing technology for superior VoIP compression, and NATAccess, to correctly translate internal IP addresses into public addresses when a VoIP call is established with an outside party.
