Wireless partnership goes platinum

Symbian and Texas Instruments are extending their strategic co-operation to further optimise the performance of the Symbian OS on TI's wireless OMAP platform

Through joining Symbian's Platinum Partner Programme, TI is continuits its long-standing, strategic co-operation with symbian as one of the earliest semiconductor companies to use Symbian OS on its OMAP platform. 'We are excited to build on our long-term industry-leading collaboration', said Gilles Alain, Vice President, Partnerships and Alliances.

'Our co-operation with TI will continue to drive faster development of 2.5 and 3G converged wireless voice, data and multimedia applications and services'.

'By joining the Symbian Platinum Partner Programme, TI continues its close co-operation with Symbian to spur innovations in wireless application development on Symbian OS and the OMAP platform', said Paul Werp, Worldwide Director, OMAP marketing, Texas Instruments.

'Through our strategic relationships with industry leaders such as Symbian, TI further demonstrates its commitment to deliver the engines that bring real-time voice, data and multimedia to wireless handsets'.
