Preamp has near-theoretical noise performance
A novel low-noise, low-distortion microphone preamplifier targets low-level audio signals in professional microphone and transducer amplifier applications
The INA217 features near-theoretical noise performance for 200ohm source impedance (1.3nV/rtHz at 1kHz). Unique distortion cancellation circuitry reduces distortion to extremely low levels, even in high gain (0.004%, G=100). Wide supply voltage, excellent output voltage swing and high output current drive make it ideal for use in high-level audio stages.

Webcast to address wireless power optimisation

'The INA217 provides designers with an improved performance replacement for ADI's discontinued SSM2017 microphone preamp which was popular in professional audio applications', said John Brown, strategic marketing engineer of TI's high-performance linear products.
Current-feedback circuitry allows the INA217 to achieve wide bandwidth (800kHz, G=100) and excellent dynamic response over a wide range of gain, making it desirable in many low impedance sensor, industrial, instrumentation and medical applications, as well as audio.
Key specifications include 1.3nV/rtHz voltage noise (1kHz), 0.004% distortion (G=100), 800kHz bandwidth (G=100), output swing 2V from the rails, +/-10mA quiescent current, better than 100dB common-mode rejection and a wide +/-4.5 to +/-18V supply range.
The INA217 is specified over the -40 to +85C temperature range.
The INA217 is available in the same DIP-8 and SOL-16 wide body packages and pinouts as the discontinued SSM2017.
The INA217 is priced from $2.35 in 1000 piece quantities (suggested resale price).
