Waveform generator for digital RF tests
Arbitrary waverform generator is useful for testing digital RF technologies including software-defined radios and radars, WiMAX, WiFi, MIMO, and UWB
The products significantly simplify the design, testing and implementation of equipment in a wide range of industry sectors that includes telecommunications, industrial, automotive and research and development. The AFG3000 Series of arbitrary/function generators consists of six models whose ease-of-use and performance have established a new benchmark in the 'value' category.
With the AFG3000 Series, engineers have a powerful function, pulse, and arbitrary waveform generator to shorten test time and reduce time from design to market.
Thanks to an innovative architecture based on a powerful 'generator on a chip' (GoC) ASIC, the AFG3000 Series delivers industry-leading performance in its class.
At the same time, the platform's user interface is straightforward and easy to use, and provides the largest available display helping to maximise productivity.
Even with these compelling advantages, instruments in the AFG3000 Series are priced below competing offerings.
Also on show will be the TLA7012 portable mainframe and TLA7016 benchtop mainframe logic analysers.

Digital Serial Analysers test high-speed data
The DSA70000 real-time Digital Serial Analysers (DSA) and P7500 probes from Tektronix test the next generation of high-speed serial data applications such as PCI-Express 2.0, HDMI 1.3, and SATA III
The mainframes are compatible with all Tektronix logic analyser modules and provide throughput that is at least three times faster than previous mainframe models enabling faster data analysis and more rapid zooming, searching, filtering and scrolling.
Each uses Windows XP Professional and the latest Intel Pentium processors to provide analysis speed that is twice as fast as the nearest competitor.
Increasingly sophisticated test requirements necessitate flexibility, high performance, and ease of use.
The new logic analysers provide the modularity, throughput, high speed analysis, and ease of use to match engineering needs.
Tektronix will also be exhibiting some its latest innovative software packages that enhance the performance of the company's products and target specific applications.
One such package is the TDSVNM automated test and validation oscilloscope software for the automotive and process control industries.
The application supports efficient testing and debugging of low speed serial buses including CAN (Controller Area of Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) networks.
Tektronix' TDSVNM is available on the TDS5000B and the TDS7000B Series digital phosphor oscilloscopes (DPO).
The use of low speed serial buses is increasing, especially with in-vehicle networks connecting doors, seats, dashboard, airbag, engine parts, steering and gearbox.
To effectively design and integrate network nodes, engineers need to measure node performance including oscillator tolerance, propagation delay, CAN eye diagram, and to analyse protocol activities to ensure reliable performance of the vehicle network.
TDSVNM is the only software application that performs CAN and LIN timing and protocol analysis, measures oscillator tolerance and propagation delay, guides the user in setting the optimum sample point, and simultaneously decodes time-correlated CAN and LIN messages.
Advanced if-then-else trigger capabilities helps the designer to ensure reliable and seamless operation of the CAN/LIN network.
Visitors to the Tektronix stand at Productronica will also be able to see the company's MyScope control windows software and right-click functionality in operation.
The package, which is now designed for use with the entire portfolio of Tektronix mid-range and high performance oscilloscopes, enables users to quickly and easily customise the oscilloscope to meet their unique requirements.
Using a simple drag and drop procedure, users are able to pull all the oscilloscope features they use into a single half-screen control window; allowing them to tailor the oscilloscope to their particular style or measurement task.
Engineers can create a virtually unlimited number of custom MyScope control windows, enabling multiple users of a shared oscilloscope to each have their own custom interface.
The intuitive capabilities of the MyScope control windows and right-clicks simplifies and makes for more efficient design validation measurements and tests so that engineers can get their work done quickly and easily.
