Dow-Key Microwave has entered a strategic marketing and distribution alliance with Teravicta Technologies to offer Teravicta's RF mems switches worldwide.
RF switches are ubiquitous building block components used in many diverse applications, such cell phones, military communications, radar systems, and automated test equipment.
RF switches made using "MEMS" technology offer superior electrical performance, but in a micro-sized form factor and consuming far less power.
"The combination of Teravicta's superior RF MEMS switch and Dow-Key's outstanding customer support, worldwide distribution network, and broad microwave switch product line will provide our customers outstanding value", said David Wightman, President of Dow-Key Microwave.
Added Wightman, "We are pleased to be teaming with Teravicta, the leader in RF MEMS switches.
The small size, low loss, long life and low power consumption of MEMS switches provide an excellent solution for a wide range of communications, test, military and aerospace applications".
"Teravicta is excited about the opportunity to team with Dow-Key Microwave, one of the world's largest suppliers of electromechanical RF switches", said Robert Miracky, President of Teravicta.
"Dow-Key's unparalleled customer service and microwave expertise will help customers obtain the maximum benefit from our RF MEMS switches.
Dow-Key's commitment to purchase and resell Teravicta's products validates our leadership position in the RF MEMS industry".
"This distribution agreement between Teravicta and Dow-Key Microwave is a significant milestone in the commercialisation of RF MEMS products", said Marlene Bourne, senior analyst at In-Stat/MDR.
"Alliances such as this are often a critical means of gaining access to key markets and customers.
More importantly, however, they can be a tremendous validation of an emerging technology".
