Altium has a new PADS to P-CAD design translator.

Altium has a new PADS to P-CAD design translator.

The translator will provide seamless conversion from PADS to the P-CAD PCB design environment.

The seamless conversion of Altium's newly developed translator will finally enable designers to access all their PADS designs in P-CAD 2001.

This means that PCB designers can now move to the powerful, cost effective PCB design platform without the loss of any intellectual property.

Another benefit of the PADS to P-CAD design translator is the greater flexibility that it allows the P-CAD designer in their working relationships with other members of the electronic design community.

This new translator is being released in conjunction with P-CAD 2001's Service Pack 3 (SP3), which is available to all P-CAD Altium Total Support members.

SP3 is not just a "bug fix"; it introduces a number of key new updates for the P-CAD 2001 PCB and schematic, and includes new program features such as advanced style management and user-defined points.

Advanced style management allows the user to replace any existing pad, via, or text styles with any available style in the design including default or user-defined style, allowing a global style change on these design objects without replacing the property of the style itself.

User-defined points will allow the user to define sizes for DRC errors, glue dots, pick and place, reference points and test points in PCB.

A number of other current special offers on P-CAD 2001 make this an excellent time to buy.

As previously announced, Altium is currently offering a 20% discount on P-CAD full suite new licenses and upgrades purchased during the month of December 2001.

This represents a saving of up to US$2000 on a new full suite license and a minimum saving of US$400 on a full suite upgrade.

In addition, all new P-CAD 2001 suite licenses come with 12 months free membership to Altium Total Support valued at US$1995.

Altium Total Support entitles members to download the latest product releases, program enhancements, technology add-ons, service packs and component libraries free of charge, and enables access to comprehensive technical support and exclusive technical and educational resources, as well as special offers.

Altium recently announced the first of these exclusive offers, entitling ATS members with a P-CAD 2001 full suite license to two powerful Tasking embedded software development toolsets - the 8051 and the XA - free of charge as part of their membership.

This offer is valid until the 31st December 2001.

With the release of the PADS to P-CAD design translator, Altium continues to provide every engineer, designer and developer with easy access to the best possible design tools.

The PADS to P-CAD design translator is available to all Altium Total Support members with a P-CAD 2001 licence, and is available at http://pcad.com/en/dlhome/utilities_home.html.
