Some of the world's largest technology companies are coming to London on 15th May 2006 for TechnologyWorld06 - the UK's only partnering event for leading-edge information, communication and technology (ICT) businesses. UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the Government organisation that provides support for UK firms wishing to expand overseas, is urging London businesses to sign up to the event.

In its third year, TechnologyWorld06 will focus on mobile and wireless applications, and ICT applications for the healthcare and security sectors.

Representatives from more than 30 countries will be seeking partnerships with leading-edge technology businesses based in the UK, including device, equipment and component manufacturers; software application developers; technology and connectivity specialists and R and D partners in electronic components and transmission technologies.

Panasonic, Nokia, Motorola, Ricoh, Matsushita, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp Corporation and Eastman Kodak are just a few of the big-name companies attending the event.

Christopher Panas from the UKTI London International Trade Team said: 'We urge London businesses to sign up to the TechnologyWorld06'.

'London is a key area where many of our most talented research and development projects are taking place and it will be an ideal location for UK businesses to showcase their innovative new products to the world market'.

'UK companies in the ICT sector are at the forefront of technological advances in their field'.

'The Government is committed to increasing the competitiveness of this sector and helping to promote this expertise both at home and abroad'.
