The Defense Contract Management Agency has awarded Sypris Electronics an 'outstanding' rating for its efforts in support of small business

The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) has awarded Sypris Electronics an 'outstanding' rating for its efforts in support of small business. Companies working with the Department of Defense and the DCMA are required to submit small business subcontracting plans containing a full list of goals each business plans to achieve during the year.

At the end of the year, each company is rated on achieving their specified goals.

There are five possible ratings a company can receive from DCMA: outstanding, highly successful, acceptable, marginal and unsatisfactory.

Only those companies who meet and/or exceed all their specified goals are awarded a rating of 'outstanding'.

According to the DCMA: 'An 'outstanding' rating signifies that the company has an exemplary programme that could be used as a model by other contractors in similar industries'.

Bob Sanders, President of Sypris Electronics, stated: 'Sypris Electronics successfully met or exceeded all the goals in our small business plan, warranting us a rating of 'outstanding' for a fourth consecutive year'.

'I would like to congratulate all Sypris Electronics employees and supply chain partners for their commitment to our small business efforts and dedication to our company goals and objectives'.

The DCMA is an independent combat support agency within the Department of Defense.

It is the department's contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programmes (systems, supplies and services) are delivered on time, within projected cost or price and meet performance requirements.
