Agency acknowledges outstanding performance
The Defense Contract Management Agency has awarded Sypris Electronics an 'outstanding' rating for its efforts in support of small business
The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) has awarded Sypris Electronics an 'outstanding' rating for its efforts in support of small business. Companies working with the Department of Defense and the DCMA are required to submit small business subcontracting plans containing a full list of goals each business plans to achieve during the year.

At the end of the year, each company is rated on achieving their specified goals.
There are five possible ratings a company can receive from DCMA: outstanding, highly successful, acceptable, marginal and unsatisfactory.
Only those companies who meet and/or exceed all their specified goals are awarded a rating of 'outstanding'.

According to the DCMA: 'An 'outstanding' rating signifies that the company has an exemplary programme that could be used as a model by other contractors in similar industries'.

The DCMA is an independent combat support agency within the Department of Defense.
It is the department's contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programmes (systems, supplies and services) are delivered on time, within projected cost or price and meet performance requirements.
