The ML5825 frequency transverter from RF Micro Devices is designed to upconvert transmitted 2.4GHz signals to 5.8GHz and downconvert received 5.8GHz signals to 2.4GHz, and is specifically optimised for streaming video applications The addition of this frequency translation functionality to a pre-existing 2.4GHz ISM band radio allows original equipment manufacturers to quickly bring to market products for operation in the 5.8GHz ISM band, including digital cordless phones and custom wireless data systems such as streaming audio and video appliances
