Nonvolatile SRAM technology is recognised as memory product of the year

Simtek's nvSRAM has been recognised in the 2007 EE Times-China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards for Memory Product of the Year. ACE Awards China recognise leadership and excellence in product design, awarding products and technologies that significantly impact or have a potential to impact mainland China's electronics market.

The award is granted to products that have demonstrated the ability to enable systems engineers to deliver new and compelling capabilities, enhance existing features and save costs and resources; or, the product or technology is broadly recognised by mainland China's design and manufacturing community for its excellence and leadership.

Simtek has developed a proprietary nonvolatile memory chip technology that facilitates unlimited reads and writes and saves critical data in the event of a power loss, all without the use of a battery.

This is the only nvSRAM technology in existence that combines the most desired features of volatile and nonvolatile memory into a single integrated chip.

The device is compact and requires less maintenance than a battery backed alternative, making Simtek's chip technology ideal for a variety of data security applications, such as RAID systems, GPS navigation, industrial and commercial copiers, PoS terminals, handheld meters, and consumer electronics products.

'We are pleased that our partnership with Cypress was instrumental in this recognition'.

'This enhancement of brand recognition for Simtek's nvSRAM was one objective of the March 2006 strategic agreement between Simtek and Cypress', said Harold A Blomquist, Simtek's President and Chief Executive Officer.

'These early products marketed by Cypress are designed and manufactured by Simtek'.

'This award reflects the superior technology of our family of nvSRAM memory products which is experiencing solid growth throughout Asia'.
