French cable TV operator France Telecom Cable has ordered more than 100,000 ICD 500 digital set-top boxes from Sagem. This order follows an earlier contract for 50,000 set-top boxes in February 2001, and confirms the company's confidence in Sagem. The first deliveries of this new order are planned for mid 2002, to support France Telecom Cable's ambitious growth plans.

The Sagem ICD 500 is equipped with a powerful 150MIPS processor and gives digital TV subscribers superior access to the contents of digital TV, games and interactive programmes.

The ergonomic, miniaturised design delivers all the benefits of hi-tech performance in a small format.

The boxes are fully equipped with OpenTV interactive middleware and the Viaccess access control system.
