SBE has entered into a partnership with TimeSys, naming it as the exclusive embedded linux distribution provider for the SBE HighWire product family.
TimeSys Corp and SBE will jointly supply a complete Linux development environment for engineers building the next generation of networking solutions.
"The telecommunications and data communications markets are among the most demanding consumers of high performance technology", said TimeSys CEO Larry Weidman.
"The partnership between SBE and TimeSys provides a superior development solution for companies building some of the most advanced systems in the world".
"The process scheduling and interrupt processing enhancements offered in the TimeSys GPL kernel enable the deterministic responsiveness required for true carrier class communications", said Dan Grey, senior vice president of sales and marketing for SBE.
"By combining SBE's modular HighWire core processing platforms with the real time extensible TimeSys GPL kernel and development tools, developers have tremendous flexibility in expediting time-to-market", Grey concluded.
In a collaborative effort, SBE and TimeSys have teamed to provide the high-performance and modularity of the HighWire carrier-class core processing platform with the scalable computing power of TimeSys Linux GPL and crossplatform development tools.
The HighWire 400c/M and HW400p/M are high-performance telecomms solutions based on compactpci and PCI architectures, with modular PMC and PTMC interfaces.
TimeSys Linux GPL consists of a powerful, fully featured, preemptible Linux kernel and all other modules needed to extend a standard Linux distribution to support the predictable, extremely low-latency response requirements of today's telecommunication systems.
