A simple microcontroller with a standard serial or USB interface can drive the uLCD module with ease.
The 2in square uLCD comes complete with 1.5in 128 x 128 colour LCD and is designed to be integrated into a wide range of applications as it offers such a wealth of features designed to facilitate any given functionality quickly and cost effectively, and thereby reduce time to market.
Features include: three selectable font sizes (5x7, 8x8 and 8x12) for ASCII characters; user-defined bitmapped characters (64 at 8x8); vector drawing controls for circles, lines, squares; logic-level RS232 (auto-baud rate detection 300-128Kbit/s).
Rx/Tx signals are at 3.3V levels (if interfacing to a 5V host series resistors are required).
The secret of the uLCD's simplicity is its easy-to-understand command set.
Easily-learned instructions can draw lines, circles, squares, etc, to provide a full text and graphical user interface.
Commands are sent to the uLCD via a serial connection (4-pin header).
Available now from stock from Saelig.
The uLCD is $69.00 and the optional USB interface board uUSB is $25.00.
