Compact all-in-one smart full colour 2.2in QVGA LCD module has an embedded graphics controller for stand-alone functionality.

RS Components has introduced a new colour graphic LCD QVGA display to its product portfolio.

With a 2.2in display, this compact all-in-one smart full colour LCD module has an embedded graphics controller for stand-alone functionality.

The user-friendly embedded commands control the background colour, produce text in various sizes, draw shapes, (including logos), in 256 or 65,536 colours, while freeing up the host processor from processor-hungry screen control functions.

Therefore a simple microcontroller with a standard serial or USB interface can easily drive the micro-LCD module.

Other features include: LED backlighting with a wide viewing angle; and easy 5-pin interface to any host device; a serial RS232 (0 to 3.3V) interface with auto-baud feature; an onboard micro-SD memory card adapter; four selectable font sizes; and built in graphics commands.

Its compact size (74.5 x 40.5 x 10.3mm) makes the 426-629 display suitable for applications such as handheld devices.
