In accordance with UK WEEE regulations, RS Components has joined the WeeeCare compliance scheme.

In accordance with UK WEEE regulations, RS Components has joined the WeeeCare compliance scheme.

The scheme, operated by WasteCare, has national coverage and will collect, recycle or dispose of, in an environmentally sound way, obligated WEEE.

RS chose the WeeeCare scheme because of the proven track record of the operator, which has been a national waste management company for 25 years.

The company also has 10 years experience in recycling WEEE, operating its own fleet of vehicles with carriage systems to prevent damage to equipment in order to promote re-use.

Lee Kilminster, RS WEEE Project Manager states: "It is important that we offer the very best solution and guidance for our customers".

"We hope that our partnership with WeeeCare will give our customers confidence that as a producer we have selected the most environmentally friendly method to demonstrate compliance".

Simon Perfect, National Sales Manager at WasteCare, added: "We are delighted that RS Components have joined our scheme".

"They are highly respected as leaders in their industry and as such we are very proud to be associated with them".

"We look forward to being of service to RS and their customers".

RS has also launched an online information centre to help customers understand more about the WEEE UK regulations.

As well as answering the most frequently asked questions, the site also offers advice on which products are affected.

It also has handy links to find out more about the WEEE UK regulations and how to comply with the disposal of products.
