Internet Light Shop links to RS in Europe and Asia

RS Components has entered into a sales partnership agreement with Osram Opto Semiconductors, as part of the lighting semiconductor specialists' new Internet Light Shop initiative.

RS Components has entered into a sales partnership agreement with Osram Opto Semiconductors, as part of the lighting semiconductor specialists' new Internet Light Shop initiative.

Virtually the entire range of products from the specialist semiconductor producer will be available from stock held by RS: LED families, infra-red components, high-power laser diodes, OLED displays and a wide range of LED displays for indoor and outdoor applications.

The Light Shop is intended for potential customers such as developers, architects, lighting planners, universities and individuals who only want to buy small quantities of these products.

Under the agreement, which covers the markets in Europe and Asia, visitors to The Light Shop site simply click on the 'buy here' button for the product they want and are taken directly to RS' site to complete their purchase.

RS has a successful track record of working with designers involved in R and D, prototyping, preproduction and maintenance, offering them a wide selection of products available quickly and in small quantities.

This announcement follows the introduction of solid state lighting technology solutions to RS' electronic product portfolio at the start of November.

The leading distributor of electronic, electrical, electromechanical and industrial components, now offers a comprehensive and complementary range of LEDs, drivers, optics, accessories and hardware.
