A new range of miniature, wide-input voltage single gate logic ICs from Rohm offers low-power operation and can deliver PCB space savings, improved design flexibility and simplified EMC compliance. Fully compatible with popular CMOS 4000 logic technology, Rohm's new BU4S devices offer a wide choice of standard logic functions, all of which are supplied in a miniature super-mini-mould SOT25 package measuring just 2.9 x 1.6 x 1.1mm. Each IC can accommodate supply voltages ranging from 3 to 16V, while typical operating current of 0.5uA ensures very low power consumption.

By providing a single logic gate in an ultracompact package, the BU4S series helps to save space at the same time as offering the designer improved flexibility in PCB layout.

In addition, the devices can contribute to EMC compliance by allowing designers to minimise PCB track lengths.

Rohm's BU4S series provides AND, OR, NAND, NOR, inverter and Schmitt trigger functions that can directly drive two L-TTL inputs and one LS-TTL input.

The series also includes an analogue switch.
