Rhopoint Components has introduced the ultraminiature 9800 series of surface-mount relays.

Rhopoint Components has introduced the ultraminiature 9800 series of surface-mount relays.

Manufactured by Coto Technology, the new relays use a higher temperature solder and solder paste for internal connections than found on previous 9800 relays.

The solder alloy, Sn95/Sb5, allows for a maximum board reflow temperature of 226C for one minute, measured at the component leads.

This compares to 221C for the Sn100 solder previously used.

This latest development addresses the need for keeping internal reflow temperatures as high as possible to better ensure the connection integrity of the relay.
