Offering 1000 sweeps a second in remote-control mode, the R and S FSV is up to five times faster than other signal analysers in its class.

The R and S FSV signal analyser from Rohde and Schwarz provides an analysis bandwidth of 40MHz and covers a wide range of wireless standards, from 3GPP LTE up to WLAN 802.11n.

The R and S FSV makes measurements more user-friendly with an innovative operating concept that includes a touch screen.

The R and S FSV is a powerful analyser for development and production.

"Today's technologies require ever higher bandwidths".

"Yet, development and production time must be shortened and costs must be reduced", says Josef Wolf, Director of the Spectrum and Network Analysis and EMC Subdivision at Rohde and Schwarz.

Offering 1000 sweeps a second in remote-control mode, the R and S FSV is up to five times faster than other signal analysers in its class - which means higher throughput in production for the customer.

It can easily be integrated into existing production lines because it is compatible with earlier generations of Rohde and Schwarz instruments.

With an analysis bandwidth of up to 40MHz, it can even analyse WLAN 802.11n signals, something possible in the past only with a high-end instrument.

The R and S FSV's total measurement uncertainty of 0.3dB up to 3.6GHz and 0.4dB up to 7GHz makes it the most accurate signal analyser available up to 7GHz.

The base unit provides functions such as the measurement of channel power and adjacent channel power or spectrum emission mask, as well as a range of filters and detectors.

If options for analysing GSM/EDGE, GPP WCDMA, 3GPP LTE, WiMAX and WLAN are installed, the R and S FSV becomes a suitable development tool for the wireless communications lab.

The system also offers an analogue measurement demodulator and the ability to directly operate a power meter from the R and S NRP family.

The operating concept offers a touchscreen, an on-screen keyboard and an expanded control panel.

This makes an external mouse and keyboard unnecessary, saving space and making operation easier in cramped spaces.

Context-sensitive help, undo/redo and auto set are available at the press of a key.

Users can easily carry out even complex measurement tasks.

The R and S FSV signal analyser comes in two models, one with a frequency range of 9kHz to 3.6GHz and one with a range of up to 7GHz.
