Rohde and Schwarz has added low-cost options to its SMJ100A vector signal generator range for use in production test setups.

When signal generators are used in production testing, the ability to generate signals in real time or to make frequent changes to signal parameters is not usually necessary.

Price is a powerful argument for purchasing an instrument.

With this group of users in mind, Rohde and Schwarz has expanded its R and S SMJ100A vector signal generator at the lower end.

The R and S SMJ-B50 and SMJ-B51 options now make it possible to equip the R and S SMJ100A with ARB-only baseband generators without comprising the signal quality.

This solution is more cost-effective than the existing baseband options for the signal generator because only the functions that are absolutely necessary are provided.

The option for the R and S SMJ100A with the ARB-only functionality is available in two versions with a memory depth of 64Msample (R and S SMJ-B50) or 16Msample (R and S SMJ-B51).

Users can generate digital signals by using the R and S WinIQSIM or WinIQSIM II simulation software; or they can use Third-party tools such as Matlab.

The R and S SMJ-B50 and SMJ-B51 options for the R and S SMJ100A vector signal generator are now available from Rohde and Schwarz.
