Equipped with the new optional ISDB-T coder, the R and S SFU is the only test transmitter to provide the most important standards DVB-H, T-DMB, ISDB-T, DMB-TH and MediaFlo on a single platform.

Another option allows testing of digital shortwave transmission or DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale).

It enables realistic simulation of mobile propagation and adjacent channel occupation.

By integrating the ISDB-T standard into the R and S SFU, Rohde and Schwarz has rounded out the test platform for development and verification of receivers and receiver modules.

A key feature is the real-time coder that allows the user to generate T-DMB/DAB, ISDB T and MediaFlo signals.

In addition, the instrument provides a T-DMB/DAB library containing a wide variety of ETI streams.

One of the new options is the R and S SFU-K353, which incorporates a comprehensive test signal library using waveforms for DRM.

For realistic propagation tests, special functions such as noise superposition or fading simulation make it possible to generate complex test signals in real time.

Mobile TV scenarios with adjacent channel occupation are described in the IEC62002 standard - also called MBRAI standard - as well as in D-Book, Nordig and A.74.

These scenarios can be simulated by using the enhanced R and S SFU-K199 analogue TV option and the R and S SFU-K354 digital interferer option.

The R and S SFU system platform can be easily enhanced with digital and analogue broadcast transmission methods.

It is suitable for a wide range of applications from research and development, production, quality assurance and service to EMC measurements as well as propagation and reception tests by network operators.
