Test platform takes on push to talk over cellular
Rohde and Schwarz now offers test solutions for push to talk over cellular based on the R and S CRTU-ATE application test environment software platform.
Push to talk over cellular (PoC) is a bidirectional radio service based on packet-switched voice transmission in GPRS, WCDMA or cdma2000 networks.
The service provides a cost-efficient means of group communications for closed user groups - both for business customers and private users.
The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) standards committee issued the first open standard for PoC in mid-2005, and shortly thereafter released the corresponding test cases.
Rohde and Schwarz now offers test solutions for PoC based on the R and S CRTU-ATE application test environment software platform.
The company has developed the first test server that provides developers of PoC clients with a standardised reference, complementing the R and S CRTU family of protocol testers and the R and S CMU200 universal radio communication tester.
Validated test cases for certifying the PoC function on mobile phones will also be provided.
