QNX Software Systems, the global leader in operating system technology for the in-car telematics and infotainment market, today announced its continued leadership and participation with COMET (Community Enabling Telematics) as the consortium expands into Europe.
A founding member of COMET, QNX was also the first real-time operating system (RTOS) provider to join the Renesas Technology-led consortium and has since been an active COMET partner in the US market.
As a founding consortium partner, QNX extends its participation to COMET's expansion into Europe, where QNX has a strong foothold of success, particularly among German automakers.

Renesas Technology first launched the COMET consortium in the USA to bring integrated systems solutions to the car infotainment and telematics market.
QNX's early participation in the US programme, and now the European programme, demonstrates the company's long-standing commitment to the automotive market, where the QNX Neutrino RTOS has become the de facto standard for operating system technology.
Members of the COMET programme help promote industry standardisation by collaborating and delivering proven, integrated platform solutions that significantly eliminate development time for automotive OEMs.
