Protek Power has launched the PMP15M series of AC/DC adapters, designed as a flexible and low-cost option for patient-vicinity medical device applications.

The PMP15M series accepts a 90-246VAC input and is available with four interchangeable input plugs (US, UK, EU and Australian), which attach to the 3.08 x 2.04 x 1.35in body of the adapter.

Single outputs range from 5VDC through 24VDC, or modified voltage requests can be accommodated.

The series has certification to worldwide EN60601-1 safety standards, RoHS compliance, CE Mark and is compliant to radiated and conducted EN55011 Class B emission limits.

With a low standby power of 0.3W typical, the PMP15M complies with CEC Level IV regulations.

Mean time before failure is 300,000 hours at full load and 25C ambient temperature.

The series is said to offer efficiencies to 76 per cent, leakage current of 100uA maximum at 264VAC, and 4,000VDC input-ground withstand voltage.

Comprehensive protection circuitry, including overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection, is featured in the design.
