'The games content development market is fast-moving and fiercely competitive', explained Karl Hilton, Art Director of Free Radical Design.
'In order to keep ahead of the other major independent developers, it is essential that we have robust development processes in place; Perforce is a critical part of that process and the way that we work'.
'As our asset management solution, Perforce plays a significant role in our ability to quickly produce reliable builds that can be developed, tested, and brought to market promptly, keeping us ahead of competitors'.
In addition to Perforce's high performance and competitive pricing structure, Free Radical Design stated that Perforce's straightforward learning curve enabled the company's designers to quickly and effectively familiarise themselves with the SCM system and its features, leading to increased productivity among the company's developers.
Dave Robertson, Director of European Operations for Perforce Software, said: 'The complexity of contemporary games development places huge demands on the asset management function at games studios'.
'The ability for Perforce to manage source code and digital assets in one place enables creative teams to collaborate more effectively on new concepts, reducing the average time it takes to bring new titles to market'.
He added: 'Enabling teams to give free rein to their creativity, with the knowledge that they are still working in accordance with agreed practices, is a powerful combination'.
'The deployment of Perforce at Free Radical Design illustrates that this can be achieved with great success'.
