Polar Instruments' popular PC-based controlled impedance field solver has been upgraded with new calculations, new structures and a goal seeker calculator.

Now available in Professional, Standard and College Editions to suit varying design requirements, Si6000b is the only PC-based tool capable of performing these complex calculations quickly and easily.

Si6000b allows PCB designers and manufacturers to simulate the effects of variations in PCB trace parameters, for accurate prediction of impedance characteristics.

Powerful impedance graph and 'goal seek' functions can be used to generate a series of data sets for comparison against a target scenario, which can then can be optimised on screen.

This significantly reduces the number of prototype runs required, and so increases yield and reduces cost.

All versions in the Si6000b family feature the new parameter calculations of propagation time, inductance, and capacitance per unit length.

As designers continue to push the performance envelope, these parameters are increasingly found to be critical to optimum performance.

With Si6000b their values can be checked easily, at any stage of the development cycle.

The convenient Excel interface makes Si6000b exceptionally easy to use.

Data tables and charts can be customised to suit individual work patterns and preferences, or for compatibility with other documentation.

The Excel tables and charts can be saved for future reuse, and can be viewed without Polar software on any PC running Excel, facilitating technical discussion between designers on different sites, or between designer and manufacturer.

Si6000b Standard Edition includes a library of 25 single-ended and differential structures.

The Professional Edition features an additional 14 new coplanar differential structures.

The Si6000b College Edition has a limited structure library and is tailored for educational institutions.

All Si6000b versions are available with multi-seat network, floating-seat network and single-seat licenses.
