DSP takes over in-car entertainment
Philips and Delphi have jointly developed the next generation state-of-the-art digital tuner for vehicle entertainment systems
Royal Philips Electronics and Delphi Corp have jointly developed the next generation state-of-the-art digital tuner for vehicle entertainment systems. The combination of Delphi Delco Electronics Systems' world leadership in digital car entertainment systems and Philips' leadership position in car DSPs will provide enhanced audio and radio reception in the car.

This next-generation tuner offers the listener clarity, enhanced noise suppression and reduces multipath channel effect, which provides consistent sound quality under dynamic reception conditions.
The tuner chipset architecture also provides the interface required for the new digital-quality HD Radio features.
Philips' car DSP, the SAF7730, enabled Delphi to develop proprietary radio software that will provide world-class reception performance through the use of advanced DSP algorithms.
The SAF7730 is a unique single-chip DSP solution with several integrated powerful DSP cores for audio and radio processing.
