Philips is first foreigner
to win Alpine award
Philips Semiconductors has received the annual Alpine Supplier Award, making it the first non-Japanese company to do so
Philips is a supplier of Car DSP and tuner IC components for Alpine's range of car audio and car navigation equipment used by auto manufacturers such as Daimler-Chrysler, Ford and BMW. Held annually since its inauguration in 1999, the Alpine Supplier Award is based on a points system using Alpine's own strict criteria for price, price competitiveness, co-operation, quality, warranty, delivery, and technological development capability.

Philips rated highly in the areas of quality, delivery and technological development capability, making it the first foreign company ever to receive the award.
The supplier award was officially presented to the president of Philips Japan, Herman de Haan, by Alpine president and CEO, Seizo Ishiguro.
In giving the award, Ishiguro commented: "I look forward to further support from Philips to help Alpine's global growth".
Drue S Freeman, Philips Semiconductors' Regional Market Segment Manager Asia Added: "It is an honour to receive this important supplier award.
Philips Semiconductors will build on its' existing strength in car radio ICs to drive the future of car infotainment.
