PEM ReelFast SMT spacers/nuts can be mounted on printed circuit boards in the same manner and at the same time as other surface mount components prior to the automated reflow solder process. They add to a growing family of PEM ReelFast SMT products and can be used to space or stack boards or (as nuts) to mount boards or attach components. The fasteners can be installed in boards as thin as 1.53mm.

Among their production and cost advantages, ReelFast SMT spacers/nuts: reduce the risk of damage to boards (and resulting scrap) that may occur when improperly installing fasteners with offline equipment; reduce handling of loose parts to deliver labour savings; and speed assembly by eliminating secondary operations.

Threaded types are available in sizes 4-40 to 8-32 and M3 to M4 and through-hole (nonthreaded) types in sizes 0.116in, 0.143in, 3.6mm and 4.2mm.

All types are offered in lengths from 0.065 to 0.375in and 2 to 10mm.

Tape-and-reel packaging conforms with industry standards and preferences for other surface mount components.

Each reel carries up to 1500 parts, depending on fastener size.
