Available now in the UK from Peak Production Equipment, the G12 Mass InterConnect from Virginia Panel Corp offers a low-profile solution for rapid connectivity between instrumentation and devices under test. With multiple interconnection options in a modular, reconfigurable interface device, the G12 is ideal for use in commercial, contract manufacturing, automotive and other high-volume testing environments.
Available in rack-mounted and table-top configurations, the G12 features an aluminium platform to accommodate in-circuit test and other 'bed of nails' testing requirements.
Integrated guide pins and VPC's proven QuadraTrack engagement mechanisms provide precise lead-in, while pin and socket modules and contacts ensure reliable connections to over 20,000 mating cycles.
With 12 connector module positions for signal, coaxial/RF, power, vacuum, pneumatic, thermocouple, and fibre-optic contacts in multiple configurations, the G12 offers I/O options to meet virtually any connectivity requirement.

Flexibility is key for functional tester
A functional test system supplied by the Peak Group is being used by controls manufacturer IMI Norgren to boost productivity and flexibility at its manufacturing plant in Lichfield, Staffs
Configurable up to 2880 signal contacts (2400 with vacuum option), the G12 accepts all VPC 90 and 2100 Series connector modules.
The unit is designed to perform in a variety of environments, and the G12 engagement handle can be repositioned in 90-degree increments to satisfy different mounting requirements.
The 3U height (approximately 4U with slides) makes it ideal for rack use, as well as providing a low-profile platform for tabletop test applications.
The rack-mount versions are available with slide mechanisms that allow quick access to instrumentation and wiring while supporting fixtures up to 81kg in weight.
The platform is removable for transport and is available in different lengths to support varied fixture sizes.
When combined with VPC's QuadraPaddle signal contacts and modules, the G12 reduces integration time by allowing use of industry-standard 2.54mm pitch COTS connectors, cable assemblies and other interconnect products.
