Wide viewing angle expands fitting
options for LED
The 1204 package size provides OVSRRGBCC3 users with the option of mounting the LED as a top-emitting or side-emitting device.
Optek Technology has developed a surface mount RGB LED with a 150 degree viewing angle, suitable for applications with limited PC board space The three separate diodes of the OVSRRGBCC3 are housed in a miniature surface mount package that is compatible with automatic pick and place equipment as well as infra-red and vapour phase solder reflow processes

"The 1204 package size provides customers with the option of mounting the LED as a top-emitting or side-emitting device", said Richard Saffa, Vice President of Optek Technology's Visible LED Business Unit.
"The mounting options and miniature size make the LED package suitable for a variety of applications, particularly those with limited board space such as handheld applications".
The OVSRRGBCC3 LED is specified for use in automotive dashboard and switch backlighting, telecommunications backlighting in telephones and faxes and flat backlighting for LCDs, switches and symbols.
The full-colour surface mount LED package is composed of a red, green and blue LED with a white diffused lens.
The red LED features AllnGaP material with a typical intensity of 125mcd.
The green and blue LEDs use InGaN material and feature typical intensities of 300 and 75mcd, respectively.
The red LED has continuous forward current of 30mA with a power dissipation of 78mW.
Continuous forward current for the green and blue LEDs is 20mA and power dissipation is 84mW.
Operating temperature ranges from -40C to +85C.
The OVSRRGBCC3 LED package measures 3.2 x 1.0 x 1.5mm.
