Recent trends in electronic production have placed ever-increasing emphasis on the importance of the quality control function. High density component placement, lead-free process, miniaturisation of chips and flexible multiproduct production all contribute to an increasing number of defects. Simultaneously, pressure on manufacturers to reduce defects increases as margins are squeezed and lead times get shorter.

The new VT-RNS AOI system from Omron Electronics offers a resolution to these challenging demands.

The system is available in multiple configurations (post-printing, post-placement and post-reflow), ensuring that zero defects continue to the next process.

Manufacturers can test their production lines at various points to isolate the weakest point and monitor quality there, using feedback from the VT-RNS to improve the process.

Alternatively, a line featuring multiple VT-RNS inspection machines will assist in taking the zero defects ideal to a reality.

The VT-RNS is the third generation of AOI machines from Omron.

It builds on the success of the technology introduced with the VT-WIN II, featuring Omron's superior colour highlight system.

This method now standard across all Omron AOI platforms uses a three-colour LED configuration and full colour camera for detailed and clear imaging.

Its robust design and multilanguage graphical user interface minimise training time and make it easy for operators to control.

Available as an inline and a desktop system, the VT-RNS offers high quality, high speed inspection to support the flexible, diverse, multiproduct production demanded by today's market. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics....
