Inverters stretch to
the majority of uses
Omron's 3G3RV is a series of inverter drives with the capability to control the vast majority of applications
Simplicity of operation and high reliability have been designed in from the outset, combining features such as an in-built LED operator and a static autotune function, with an increased number of configurable I/O and Fieldbus interfaces allowing the drive to be integrated into both existing and new systems.

More options for CWDM multiplexers
New packages and assemblies extend the mounting options for CWDM multiplexers in fibre-to-the-node and fibre-to-the-home applications
Available in powers from 400W up to 160kW initially (with models up to 300kW to follow), the 3G3RV can be run in either V/f mode for simple speed control applications, or in open loop vector mode for more demanding tasks.
A high starting torque of 150% is available from 0.5Hz, suiting the drive to use with difficult loads.
The 3G3RV has been designed from the outset to ensure ease of use throughout all aspects of installation, programming, operation and routine maintenance.
Screw terminals and a well thought out terminal arrangement facilitate quick installation, whilst the LED operator interface enables simple numerical entry to get the drive up and running quickly and doubles as a copy unit for quick set up of multiple drives.
An LCD, plain text interface is an option.

In addition to the standard rotating autotune function, a new feature enhancing the ease of set-up of the drive is a static autotune function, which offers autotuning of the drive without the requirement to rotate the motor.
In use, the 3G3RV offers PID functionality, an impressive energy-optimisation strategy for maximum motor efficiency, extremely low noise levels across the speed range and a built in DC link reactor (standard above 22kW, optional below) to minimise harmonics and improve the power factor.
An in-built braking transistor is standard on models up to 18.5kW.
For applications that require intermittent braking of high inertia loads, a newly developed system called 'high slip braking' can be used to stop loads up to three times faster than usual, without the need for a braking card and resistors.
A wide variety of option cards include the DeviceNet interface card standard across Omron's range of drives, enabling a connected PLC to send speed references and operation commands and to monitor the drive's status.
In addition, the 3G3RV boasts an expanded I/O capability, with freely allocated analogue and digital I/O and pulse train I/O enabling master/ slave operation.
Whilst the 3G3RV offers the same high levels of reliability as all drives in the Omron range, a key feature of the unit is a detachable control circuit terminal, which means that, should the drive ever need to be replaced, none of the wiring has to be touched.
This ease of replacement theme is further enhanced by a parameter copy function, which allows parameters to be quickly copied from one drive to another.
Typical applications for the 3G3RV will include control of conveyors, mixers, lifts, cranes, fans and pumps. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics....
